Yes that is just what people say when they try to be noble and say that he/she loves her/him so much but is unsuccessful is luring her/him net.
When ditching happens this is the best reply that people give after getting ditched.
But according to me the girl will never in love if you think so noble or even if you are so noble. Its just a way of losing your love with some nobleness in your character.
By the way I want all the girls who are my friends, or whom I know to be happy all their life. And to the boys, I always loved my friends (not romantically though)...
